Russell Kirk at The Philadelphia Society, Oct. 2, 1993

Oh, what an event! The day started with Governor John Engler delivering warm praise of the accomplishments of Russell Kirk. There were seminars throughout the day by some of the best and brightest. And I was allowed to be there. I have a lot from that day that’s not yet been digitized…but THIS…well, this was the culmination of the event.

A recognition of Russell’s birthday–his 75th–an introduction by Edwin Feulner…and then comments by Russell.

The event at the Dearborn Inn was only a little ways from where Russell worked at Greenfield Village when he was a college student. It was there he met Mr. Ford.

As well as Russell’s speech there was an earlier address by Roger Scruton at the evening’s gathering.
